60 lat Instytutu Metali Nieżelaznych

Instytut Metali Nieżelaznych został powołany do życia zarządzeniem Ministerstwa Hutnictwa z dnia 28.11.1951 r. Głównym zadaniem Instytutu miało być stworzenie bazy naukowo-technicznej dla odbudowy i rozwoju polskiego przemysłu metali nieżelaznych. Powstał na bazie wydzielonych z Instytutu Metalurgii trzech zakładów naukowo-badawczych: Zakładu Rud, Zakładu Metali Nieżelaznych i Zakładu Metalurgii Proszków, do których zostały dołączone Laboratorium Badawcze Przeróbki Rud w Bytomiu i Centralne Laboratorium Badawcze w Trzebini.

Non-Ferrous Metals Institute was established by decree of the Ministry of Metallurgy of 11/28/1951, the Institute's main task was to make scientific and technical bases for the reconstruction and development of the Polish non-ferrous metals industry. It was based on the Institute of Metallurgy, separated from three research facilities: Department of Rudy, Department of Non-Ferrous Metals and Powder Metallurgy Division, to which were attached Ore Processing Research Laboratory in Bytom and the Central Research Laboratory in Trzebinia.
