A fast manual method for determination of anionic surfactants in water samples

Results of investigation on the determination of anionic surfactants (AS) in water samples by means of colour reaction based on the reaction of AS with mixed indicator dimidium bromide-disulfine blue and spectrophotometric measurements of the absor-bance at 525 nm are presented. It has been found, that in properly selected analytical conditions limit of AS detection in the procedure is 0.07 1(-1). This enables the use of the method in monitoring or quality control of the natural and drinking water.

Przedstawiono wyniki badań nad oznaczaniem anionowych surfaktantów (AS) w próbkach wody metodą opartą na barwnej reakcji z mieszanym wskaźnikiem bromek dimidowy-błękit disulfinowy i pomiarem spektrofotometrycznym absorbancji przy długości fali 525 nm. Stwierdzono, że w odpowiednio dobranych warunkach granica oznaczal-ności AS w opisanej metodzie wynosi 0,07 mg 1(-1). Umożliwia to wykorzystywanie metody w monitoringu jakości wód naturalnych i wody do picia.
