In the paper the modeling of landing gear of a plane is under consideration. The design process is carried out under the assumption of that the exact space for the gear is defined. The Solid Edge system is used in order to calculate the forces appearing during landing and folding the gear. The dynamics of the gear is done by using finite element technique with especially chosen shape function for describing rigid body motion of the system. The landing gear is modeled as a four bal linkage.
