Procesy zabezpieczenia logistycznego jednostki wojskowej

Some remarks involved with logistic support processes have been presented in this paper. There are six main logistic support processes of the land forces: material support, technical support, transportation support, medical support, controling and additionally undertaking. Logistic support processes of the mechanised (tanks) battalions have been discussed in more detail. The range of logistic support of the battalion depends on tasks which have to be done. In general logistic support of the battalion included material, technical and medical support. The transportation support duties are carried out by material support. There are planning logistic and executive logistic in the battalion. The officer of S-4 and two warrant officers (supply warrant officer and maintenance warrant officer) present the planning logistics. The logistic units (supply platoon, repair platoon and medical platoon) present the executive logistics of the battalion. In recent years the logistic support duties have been changed because the Army is much more committed in operation other than war. As an example: conflict prevention operations; counter proliferation operations; peace-keeping, peace-making, peace-building, pence-enforcement operations; humanitarian operations. In these operations battalions can act as: emergency forces, police forces, stabilizing forces, implementing forces. And they can execute surgical strikes, realize rescue missions, battlefield clearance operations, civil administration restoration missions. Moreover, military units are rated among: main defence forces, reaction forces and immediate reaction forces. In connection with new tasks of the Army, the range of the logistic support has to be changed. It has to be envolved into logistic „Just in time" and „Commercial off the shelf".
