Development of lighting design aiding software on the example of the DIALux 4.1 application

The paper presents possibilities of modern computer aiding systems for lighting designing. Four the most popular specialized systems are presented, i.e. RELUX, DIALux, CALCULUX, and LITESTAR. completed by characteristics of ArchiCAD System related to lighting and visualization. The formats of the files are noticed thai enable exchanging data among the CAD applications. The example of the DIALux System served for presenting the programs aiding the designing processes of technical systems. Important significance of AutoCAD and 3D Studio applications is indicated, concerning unification of graphical formats used in computer aided design systems.
