Edges of cantilevers of bridge decks are generally ended by cornices of shape de-pended on chosen concept of whole so-called sidewalk concrete cover under sidewalk or only its concrete cover without any sidewalk. There are different ways to end the bridge deck edge. Bridge cornices can be formed as elements of bridge deck (in the form of longitudinal beam under barrier), can be parts of so-called sidewalk concrete covers or can be made using prefabricated cornice boards attached to a monolithic sidewalk covers. In this paper authors present a solution using prefabricated cornice boards used more often in our country. Based on observations of this type of solutions, including research performed during the maintenance works, some comments on the solutions will be presented.
