The paper presents theoretical analysis and computation results of permanent magnets synchronous motor characteristics and performances. Two types of stator design to the motors were investigated. First structure of a stator core is a conventional slotted design of an asynchronous motor. The other structure has two pieces: an inner slotted core and an outer ring-shaped core. The inner slotted core has closed slots from a side of an air-gap. The field calculations basing on the two-dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM) was applied to determination of performances and parameters of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM).
