Often, the energy efficiency of the system is described using the power losses. It leaves out the phenomenon that causes power losses outside of the testing system. If these power losses are related to work the system in question, they have an impact on the overall energy efficiency. The article proposes to take account of these phenomena using mathematical description. For such an assessment has been taken drive system of large power rotodynamic pump.
