The possibilities of decreasing the drive power demand of belt conveyors in an open pit lignite mine

The possibilities of decreasing the belt conveyor energy consumption caused by the energy-saving oriented conveyor design have been presented. The significant conveyor drive power savings can be achieved due to complex choice of the operating and design conveyor parameters with the use of new designing methods and recent technological achievements of the conveyor equipment suppliers.
