Supercapacitors application in powering solution of mobile devices

The supercapacitor is relatively new passive component, which starts to play significant role in improving the work of power supplies as well in mobile as in stationary devices. Since this element became available on the market, more sophisticated methods of energy restoring and saving are possible. Due to such features: short charge/discharge time, wide operating temperature, huge capacitance and power density, the supercapacitor can efficiently support existing power solutions. Its most important application is electrical energy storing during recuperation of kinetic energy. However, actions like providing backup power, cutting pulse current noise or enhancing load balancing when used in parallel with a battery can be also performed. In this article the importance of further development of supercapacitor solutions is shown, while growing need of mobile power source like batteries, engines and fuel cells is observed.
