Infrastruktura informacji geodezyjnej i kartograficznej

The process of building spatial data infrastructure is presented in the paper as a process of national resources informatization. This process is connected with several initiatives, including: standardization, adaptation of national regulations, organizing and coordinating activities. The paper presents some basic activities initiated by the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography in this area during the last 12 months. The set of objectives addressed by the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography contains creation of information society through broad use of geodetic data. The spatial data infrastructure design appears in it as an act of creation of the foundation for the national information infrastructure and a chance of efficient management of the country by public administration.
