Analiza krajobrazu przy użyciu podejścia obiektowego w geoinformacji

In last years a new technique of image classification appeared, consisting in application of objectbased approach. This methodology is relevant in comparison with traditional pixel-based classification methods. It gives also new possibilities related to functioning of the object-based approach as a new paradigm in geoinformation. The new approach to image analysis allows to join GIS and landscape ecology methods for performing advanced spatial analyses. The paper presents theoretical basis and advantages of the object-based approach in landscape analysis. Also, possibilities of further analyses with the use of objects and some limitations of the method are discussed.
