W artykule przedstawiono wyniki prowadzonych przez autora badań dotyczących metody oceny dokładności aproksymacji powierzchni terenu za pomocą modeli cyfrowych, w aspekcie implementacji dyrektywy INSPIRE, oraz ustalenia w jej ramach zasad opisu dokładności ukształtowania powierzchni terenu.

Rapid economic development causes that more and more research, planning and design issues have spatial character requiring 3D information. For these issues, accuracy of land surface approximation with the use of digital models will be of vital importance. This paper presents a method of accuracy assessment of a digital surface model developed by the author as compared with the results of other studies in this field. A good convergence of the analyzed results has been obtained. The proposed method of accuracy assessing of digital terrain models can be used to prediction of accuracy of digital approximation depending on the accuracy of the DTM points, the average points distance and land slopes of the researched area.
