Ocena pojazdów pod względem bezpieczeństwa pieszych jest bardzo istotna, ponieważ są oni jednymi z najbardziej narażonych na śmiertelne obrażenia użytkownikami dróg. Obecnie istotną rolę w rozwoju bezpieczeństwa pełnią symulacje komputerowe. Ważnym aspektem symulacji numerycznych jest dobór modelu numerycznego użytego do oceny bezpieczeństwa. W artykule zaprezentowano obecnie stosowane modele stosowane podczas badania bezpieczeństwa niechronionych użytkowników dróg. Porównano również wyniki otrzymanych przebiegów czasowych dla impaktorów oraz manekina pieszego.

Pedestrians are one of the most endangered road users. The research on their safety are still a relatively new matter. Currently, there is no solution that can provide the sufficient pedestrian protection. One of the testing methods for vulnerable road users safety are the computer simulations. They ensure examination of different models with lower costs comparing to the physical experiments. Obtaining realistic results is impossible when models representing only parts of the human body are used. The better solution is to use dummies that have better biofidelity than the impactors.
