W artykule przedstawiono postulowaną metodykę i możliwości oceny rentowności przemysłu węglowego w Polsce, w ujęciu gałęziowo-branżowym i przedsiębiorstw, dostosowane do uwarunkowań gospodarki rynkowej. Wskazano na trudności prowadzenia obecnie tego typu ocen.

The paper presents a postulated methodology and possibilities of evaluation of mining industry profitability in Poland, in the level of the branch and of the enterprise, adjusted to market economy conditions. The difficulties in carring on such an evaluation at present have been expressed.
