Application of the formability limit function in prediction of the material fracture

The known criteria for predicting the ductile fracture during bulk-metal forming operations and their disadvantages are discussed. Then the authors present their own damage model that is based on the strainpath dependent ductile fracture criterion and the use of a formability limit function. The computation procedure is implemented into the Forge3 finite-element package and tested by performing the simulations of cold upsetting of austenitic-steel cylindrical billet.

Opisano znane z literatury kryteria plastycznego pękania podczas operacji kształtowania objętościowego oraz ich wady. Zaprezentowano własny model zniszczenia oparty na odkształceniowym kryterium plastycznego pękania oraz wykorzystujący funkcję odkształcalności granicznej. Procedura obliczeniowa modelu została wprowadzona do kodu programu Forge3, którego podstawą jest metoda elementów skończonych, a następnie przetestowana przez przeprowadzenie symulacji numerycznych spęczania na zimno wsadu w postaci walca wykonanego ze stali austenitycznej.
