The potential gas emission from a thermally active coal waste dump

This article introduces the problem associated with the fire risk, which exists at the coal waste dumps. An attempt to definite the amount of the flammable gases emitted from the thermally active coal waste dump has been made. The methods and results of research on the speed of emission of the gas mixture from the surface of the coal waste dump and the results of the research on the concentration of the chosen gases from that mixture have been described. This was the basis of the defining of the potential amount of gas emission from a certain area of the coal waste dump, which is in the state of being intensively active thermally.

W artykule przedstawiono problem związany z zagrożeniem pożarowym, jakie występuje na zwałowiskach odpadów powęglowych. Podjęto próbę określenia wielkości emisji gazów pożarowych wydzielanych z aktywnego termicznie zwałowiska. Opisana została metodyka i wyniki badań wydzielania mieszaniny gazowej z powierzchni zwałowiska oraz wyniki badań stężeń jej wybranych składników. Określono potencjalną wielkość emisji gazów z wybranej powierzchni zwałowiska znajdującego się w stanie silnej aktywności termicznej.
