The problem of optimising start-up curves of steam turbines has been discussed in this paper. This is a part of a larger research program concerned with the modernisation of operating conditions of power units. A mathematical optimisation model has been formulated and a domain of start-up curve optimisation of large power turbines has been defined. The paper also presents a numerical algorithm of the optimisation and its application.
