Output of coal in Spain is subject of continuous and deep process of restructuring. Coals as solid fuels extracted in Spain are very little competitive in relation to imported coal. The present state of mining sector depends on the demands guaranteed by power stations. This amount will be reduced in accordance to foundations of programme "Plan 1998-2005 de la Mineria del Carbon". Strategy of restructuring relies on delivery of potential solutions and technological modernization of mining.
