Rzut oka na działalność urzędów górniczych w okresie międzywojennym

W artykule przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące działalności władz górniczych w latach 1918-1939. Podjęto próbę charakterystyki najistotniejszych problemów nadzoru górniczego w pierwszych latach II Rzeczpospolitej. Przedstawiono także w skrócie informacje na temat osób pełniących kierownicze stanowiska w nadzorze górniczym oraz opisano najważniejsze inicjatywy władz górniczych w okresie międzywojennym. Obraz dokonań urzędów górniczych w tamtym okresie został nakreślony przede wszystkim poprzez obszernie cytowane fragmenty tekstów źródłowych (stenogramów, dokumentów urzędowych, artykułów i opracowań). Całość uzupełniają biogramy prezesa Wyższego Urzędu Górniczego w Krakowie Antoniego Meyera i wiceprezesa Wyższego Urzędu Górniczego w Katowicach Stanisława Majewskiego, a także informacje na temat organizacji władz górniczych w II Rzeczpospolitej oraz dane statystyczne dotyczące ówczesnego potencjału polskiego przemysłu wydobywczego oraz stanu bezpieczeństwa pracy w górnictwie.

The article presents selected issues concerning the activity of mining authorities in years 1918-1939. The attempt of the characterization of the most vital problems of mining supervision organs in the first years of the II Republic of Poland was made. The information on persons holding managerial functions in the interwar period was outlined; the most important initiatives of mining authorities of that time were presented. A picture of mining offices achievements was drawn mainly through extensive quotations of source documents experts (shorthand notes, official documents, articles and studies). The whole is complemented by biographical entries of the President of the State Mining Authority in Krakow -Antoni Meyer and vice President of the State Mining Authority in Katowice -Stanisław Majewski, information on the organization of mining authorities in the II Republic of Poland and statistical data from that period as well as Polish extractive industry potential and the state of the safety at work in mining.
