Artykuł dotyczy zagadnień prowadzenia podziemnej eksploatacji węgla kamiennego w granicach filarów ochronnych. W oparciu o obowiązujące przepisy podano uwarunkowania związane z tworzeniem filarów ochronnych oraz wykorzystaniem zasobów w nich uwięzionych. Na podstawie danych statystycznych nakreślone zostały panujące obecnie trendy w zakresie prowadzonej eksploatacji węgla kamiennego w aspekcie: wydobycia ogólnego, wydobycia w granicach filarów ochronnych wraz z wyborem sposobu kierowania stropem jak również rozwojem wydobycia z filarów w zależności od rodzaju chronionych obiektów.

This article pertains to the issues of a coal mining operation within the boundaries of protection pillars. Basing on the effective regulations there is given a whole set of conditions connected with the establishing of protection pillars and utilizing the pillar-bound reserves. On the basis of available statistical data described have been the present-day prevailing trends as regards the coal mining operation underway in the aspects of total output, the output within protection pillar bound-aries, including the choice of roof control system, as well as the development of mining output from the pillars depending on the type of land surface structure under protection.
