W ostatnich latach w polskich miastach nastąpił gwałtowny wzrost liczby użytkowników dróg, proporcjonalnie zwiększyło się również natężenie ruchu drogowego. Rozwój ekonomiczny kraju sprzyja tym tendencjom i w najbliższym czasie będzie widoczny dalszy wzrost liczby użytkowników dróg. Nieuniknione jest, że ta sytuacja będzie wpływać na wzrost liczby wypadków. Bardzo częstą przyczyną wypadków i kolizji jest niejasna, niewłaściwa i niedostateczna infrastruktura drogowa. W artykule zostaną poruszone kwestie związane z podejmowanymi działaniami w sferze infrastruktury drogowej, które mają bezpośredni wpływ na poprawę bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi pierwszą z dwóch części.

In recent years the number of road users has grown rapidly and due to that fact the traffic congestion has also increased. The economic development of the country is in favour of those tendencies and in the nearest future we will observe further increase in number of road users. As a result, the increase in number of accidents is unavoidable. The cause of accidents and collisions on the roads is often the vague, improper and insufficient road infrastructure. The article refers to issues connected with undertaken actions in reference to road infrastructure which have direct influence on road safety. This article is the first out of two parts.
