Podkreślono rolę geotechniki w kształceniu inżyniera budowlanego ze zwrócenienm szczególnej uwagi na kierunki Budownictwo, Architektura oraz Inżynieria Środowiska. Wprowadzenie w ostatnich latach nowych metod badań i interpretacji podłoża gruntowego, wykorzystywania realistycznych metod obliczeniowych z uwzględnieniem wzajemnego oddziaływania konstrukcja - podłoże, zastosowanie wielu nowych technologii w fundamentowaniu i ulepszaniu podłoża, zastosowanie w szerokim zakresie geosyntetyków do budowli geotechnicznych, szerokie wprowadzenie problematyki geotechnicznej do zagadnień inżynierii środowiska, wymaga odpowiedniego kształcenia w zakresie geotechniki. Nakreślono główne kierunki zmian dotyczące zakresu nauczania geotechniki.

The role of geotechnics in the education of the engineers with architectural, civil and environmental engineering specializations was discussed and pointed out. The increase of the role in recent years has been caused by the introduction of new methods for investigation and recognition of a subsoil, the application of modern calculation methods taking into account the subsoil - structure interaction, the application of new technologies in foundation engineering and soil improvement, wide use of geosynthetics for earth structures as well as implementation of geotechnical solutions to environmental engineering problems. General directions of changes in geotechnical teaching are also presented and discussed.
