The basic characteristics of piles with base expanded by jet grouting and the results of experimental pile tests were presented. The main advantage of the expending is increasing the pile bearing capacity by as much as 200% in suitable circumstances. Conditions applicable for the implementation of the proposed technology to the practice of engineering were discussed.
