The influence of manufacturing process on electret fabrics structure

The paper describes results of polypropylene fabrics investigations. All the tested samples were made by melt-blown method. The aim of the work was to determine the influence of basic manufacturing process parameters on structure of non-woven filter materials. The electrostatic charge distribution on the samples surface and charge decay temperature were measured as a function of air blowing temperature, air delivery, blow-head and drawing drum distance. It was found that all these parameters have significant influence on structure of fabrics, their electret and filtration properties
