W artykule omówiono znaczenie inwestycji w sieci TEN -T w kontekście przezwyciężania barier rozwoju infrastruktury transportu w regionie Morza Bałtyckiego. Przedstawiono nierównomierności w stanie wyposażenia infrastrukturalnego, a następnie podstawowe bariery rozwoju. W kolejnej części przeanalizowano możliwości poprawy stanu infrastruktury w krajach regiony bałtyckiego dzięki inwestycjom w sieci TEN-T.

The article deals with the problem of transport infrastructure underdevelopment in the Baltic Sea Region. Well developed infrastructure is considered as one of most important conditions for regional integration and continuous growth. Comparison of national transport networks and their interconnectivity is made for countries of the region. Major barriers-political, economic, environmental and social which create obstacles in building single integrated network within BSR are discussed. Finally TEN-T policy within the area is analysed. TEN-T investments due to their multinational nature could be considered as a major factor which might help to archive convergent transport system in Baltic area.
