Przedstawione rozważania stanowią próbę zdefiniowania takich pojęć jak: przedmiot historii, historia najnowsza, tradycja, historia wojskowa oraz historia techniki wojskowej. Wyjaśnienie podstawowych twierdzeń metodologicznych z tych dziedzin wiedzy przybliża czytelnikowi nie tylko kierunki zainteresowań badawczych pracowników Zakładu Historii Wojskowej INH WAT, ale głównie ich zadania dydaktyczno-wychowawcze.

It is presented the attempt of defining the following ideas: the subject of history, the newest history, the tradition, the military history and the history of military technique. Clarification of the fundamental methodological thesis concerning these regions of knowledge enables the reader to look in the details of the study directions of the staff of the Military History Establishment in the Institute od Historical Studies of the Military University of Technology. The main interest is connected with didactics and training problems.
