Metoda kierunkowych wierceń horyzontalnych jest obecna w Polsce już od dwudziestu lat. Pierwsze instalacje rurociągów metodą wiertniczą zrealizowały zagraniczne spółki we współpracy z polskimi partnerami. Po dwóch dekadach praktycznego stosowania można stwierdzić, że technologia HDD wypracowała sobie w Polsce stabilną i silną pozycję, a wykonawcy prac należą do czołówki specjalistycznych firm inżynieryjnych.

The horizontal directional drilling method has been present in Poland for twenty years. First pipelines were installed with the drilling method by foreign contractors in cooperation with Polish partners. After two decades of practical use, it can be stated that HDD has gained strong and stable position in Poland, and Polish contractors are among the leaders in this business. In the past, the directional drilling technologies were initially used in petroleum and telecom industries. Later on, the range of applications increased by water and sewage and electric power systems. There are single projects involving installation of heating, drainage and geothermal pipelines. The boring machines are also used for geological survey and precise determining of strata boundaries. The paper presents rankings of projects completed divided into the classes of boring units
