Nawigacyjny system satelitarny GPS, dzisiaj i w przyszłości

Pod koniec pierwszej dekady trzeciego tysiąclecia jedynym w pełni operacyjnym nawigacyjnym systemem satelitarnym (NSS) był amerykański system GPS. W artykule opisano jego status, problemy eksploatacyjne, wykorzystanie przez różnych użytkowników, szczegółowe plany modernizacyjne, w szczególności segmentu kosmicznego i naziemnego, nową technologię ze wspomaganiem Assisted GPS (A–GPS) oraz najważniejsze wydarzenia związane z GPS i innymi NSS, spodziewane w najbliższych 10 latach.

At the end of the first decade of the third millennium American GPS system is only one fully operational satellite navigation system. The actual status, exploitation problems, detailed plans of the modernization of this system, spatial and terrestrial control segments in particular, new technology Assisted–GPS, the utilization of the system by different kind of users and the most significant events concerning GPS system in the nearest 10 years are described in this paper.
