In situ experiments in X ray tomography using synchrotron and standard laboratory tomographs
The paper describes different machines used in our group to perform in situ tests in X-ray tomography. Theses rigs are placed on the rotating stage of synchrotron or standard laboratory tomographs and allow deformation and temperature to be applied to the sample. X-ray tomography is then used to study the evolution of the internal structure of the materials. Monotonous tension and compression at room and high temperature, fatigue tension, cooling, heating stages have been successively developed over the past ten years. At the end of the paper, two examples are presented in the form of reconstructed slices acquired at different times during the experiments. One was obtained using a synchrotron and the other one using the standard laboratory tomograph.
