In case of small plants, the treatment and rendering harmless (managing) of the sludge are limited to an indispensable minimum to reduce the costs and simplify the operational process. In the case of large treatment plants, the use of sludge as power plant fuel using the "KJN" technology for power boilers prefurnaces is an optimal solution to the sludge management problem.
