Numerical simulation of shock wave diffraction
The objective of the present paper is the numerical simulation of shock wave diffraction using implicit Flux Vector Splitting (FVS) scheme. The hybrid FVS scheme is constructed as a combination of flux vector splitting and second-order artificial dissipation. This scheme is implemented in conjunction with an implicit unfactored method. Computations are performed for unsteady shock-wave diffraction over a cylinder and the interaction of a shock wave with a square cavity. Comparisons are presented with other numerical and experimental results from literature.
