Zastosowanie azotu technicznego podczas gazowego azotowania stali austenitycznych

Badano możliwość aktywacji powierzchni stali austenitycznych przy zastosowaniu azotu technicznego zawierającego ok. 0,2% O2 w procesie azotowania gazowego. Przez zmianę udziału azotu technicznego w mieszaninie z amoniakiem regulowano potencjał tlenowy atmosfery gazowej. Azotowano z dobrym skutkiem cztery reprezentatywne stale austenityczne w temperaturze 570°C, a także poniżej temperatury 450°C. Nowy sposób jest alternatywą dla kłopotliwej metody stosowania powietrza do regulacji potencjału tlenowego wymagającej instalacji zapłonnika i kontroli bezpieczeństwa procesu.

The possibility of using technical nitrogen including 0.2% O2 for activation of surfaces of austenitic steels du ring gas nitriding was investigated. By changing mole fraction of technical nitrogen NH3/N2t mixture oxygen potential of gas atmosphere was controlled during heating the steel to nitriding temperature and sometimes during nitriding process. Four representative austenitic steels were nitrided with good results at 570°C and under 450°C. New method can be alternative to regulating oxygen potential by air and allows avoiding installing of igniting mechanism and safety control.
