Community legislations and interoperability requirements are intended to create the common railway transport system. One of the necessary actions to be taken is the unification of technical and functional requirements referred to as the Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI). The article discusses the rules and the resulting requirements that apply in the countries of the European Union as well as the procedure for assessing compliance with the requirements of the TSI for the "railway rolling stock" subsystem.
