Monitoring leśnych stref przydrożnych metodą pomiarów magnetometrycznych

The paper presents the method of an initial identification of the presence of metallic elements in soil, which is an alternative method to chemical investigations. The applied method consisiting in the evaluation of the magnetic susceptibility of soil is an easily measurable geophysical value describing capability of a given substance to magnetizing changes under the influence of the exterior magnetic field. The magnetic susceptibility measurements procedure is based upon relation between the magnetic susceptibility increase and the content of heavy metals in the soil environment. An evaluation of aplicability of the magnetometric investigations in environmental monitoring was carried out using a comparison between the magnetometric measurements results with chemical investigations results conducted to describe both horizontal and vertical migration of heavy metals leached from cement-ground road foundations.
