Experimental Studies on Crushing Processes of Cuboidal Blocks in Jaw Crusher with Trapezoidal Crushing Plates Fields
The paper presents the results of research on the influence of aggregate type on rock crushing process in double-toggle jaw crusher. Experimental studies were performer on the model laboratory crusher allowing for measurement of displacements of the jaw , forces acting on the jaw and crushing energy. Crushing process was carried out using trapezoidal crushing plates, offer very good crushing properties due to diversified surface which contacts with the material during crushing process. The studies concerned the cubicoid samples of: Mucharz sandstone, Morawica cohesive limestone, White Marianna marble and Strzegom granite. Main task was to analyse of influence of crushing plates shape on products particle size distribution, forces occurring during crushing process, crushing energy and effective crusher performance. Experiments confirmed that Bond’s hypothesis approximates fairly well the crushing energy per unit mass. Irregular arrangement of a feed in crusher’s hopper affects the energy consumption during srushing process, as compared to the feed arranged in regular way.
