Methodology for finding investment sites that can be refurbished from a nearby medium voltage line element instead of using the existing low voltage line corridor

This paper proposes a methodology for highlighting alternative investment solutions from a large number of investment projects. The methodology identifies remote connection points located far from the sub-station where electricity can be provided from a nearby medium voltage line element. The methodology uses a mathematical model to find the smallest distance between a point and a vector. This methodology was tested in Elektrilevi OÜ where it proved to be very effective. This article also includes an example of using the provided methodology.
