Bit-exact simulation of 6TiSCH networks
This article presents an approach to building a bit-exact simulation environment, capable of handling complex wireless communication stack such as 6TiSCH with enough performance, to be useful in large scale network topologies. The architecture of the simulator and the stack is presented along with the discussion of key features and design choices. The results of the simulation are compared to the results of extensive testbed experiments, which conclude that the designed tool can be used for practical design and verification of large distributed IoT applications.
The article presents the results of R&D work carried out as part of the project entitled ”Development of an innovative wireless communication platform for the Internet of Things applications” (RPMP.01.02.01-12-0261/1), co-financed by the European Union under sub-measure 1.2.1 ”Research and development projects of enterprises”, Regional Operational Programme for the Małopolska Region 2014-2020.
