In the Renaissance time, the head Polish thinkers, while analysing numerous aspects and problems of Poland's social, political and economic life, dedicated a lot of interest to vital for the society security matters (war and peace) in different aspects and contexts. Their output in this area was the top of all Renaissance scientific writing and publications and played a significant role in developing Polish modern and humanistic political, social, economic and cultural reality. Assuming principal European ideas Renaissance thought in particular, these humanistics not only creatively reshaped them but also developed and enriched them to adopt to Polish defence policy. Much attention was particularly drawn to the moral dimension and war evaluation (just and unjust wars). Peace was also broadly and deeply analysed as next to war it was placed on the key position among factors creating holistic security. Concepts or visions of secure, harmonious society and state were usually connected with the necessity to carry out social, political system, political, economic, legal and moral changes (reforms).
