Efektywny ładunek jonu a elektroujemność

Przedstawiono korelacje pomiędzy elektroujemnością, zdefiniowaną przez Paulinga, Mullikena, Allena, Sandersona i Görlicha, a efektywnym ładunkiem jądra jonów wyznaczonym z liniowej zależności odwrotności promieni jonowych lub pierwiastka kwadratowego z energii ich jonizacji. Wykazano, iż dla znacznej liczby jonów, mających tą samą konfigurację elektronową, istnieją liniowe korelacje pomiędzy elektroujemnością a proponowanym doświadczalnym ładunkiem jądra. Podobne korelacje uzyskano pomiędzy pozostałymi proponowanym parametrami; efektywnym ładunkiem jonu oraz efektywnym potencjałem jonowym a elektroujemnością. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, iż proponowane parametry można stosować do charakterystyki jonów, podobnie jak elektroujemność wykorzystywana jest do określenia charakteru wiązań.

Correlations between the electronegativity as defined by Pauling, Mulliken, Allen, Sanderson and Görlich, and an effective charge of ion nuclei determined on the ground of linear relationships of the ionic radii reciprocals or square root of their ionisation energies were presented. It was shown that for a significant number of ions possessing the same electron configuration there exist linear correlations between the electronegativity and a suggested experimental nuclear charge. Similar correlations have been obtained for the other suggested parameters: effective charge of the ion, Zeff or Zeff, as well as the effective potential of the ion, and the electronegativity. It results from the analysis carried out that the suggested parameters can be employed to characterise the ions, just as the electronegativity is used to determine the bond character.
