This paper presents problems of ,,social housing” with the specific reference to housing development in France. The paper shortly shows the scale of the social problem and the level of action which needs to be taken to bring social housing up. The paper presents especially an example of housing district in Villefontaine, situated 30 kilometers near Lyon on Rhone-Alpes region of France. The paper bring a collection of photographs realised by the authors "in situ".
