Nowy port w Elblągu oraz rejon Żuław Wiślanych na tle wzrastającego ryzyka powodziowego
W artykule został przedstawiony port w Elblągu, który z powodu uwarunkowań naturalnych Zalewu Wiślanego oraz rzeki Elbląg, a także politycznych realiów, jak dotąd nie w pełni wykorzystywał swoje położenie w bliskości morza. Impulsem do rozwoju miasta i szansą na zmiany w podupadłym porcie elbląskim ma stać się oddany do użytku we wrześniu 2022 r. nowo wybudowany kanał przez Mierzeję Wiślaną. Celem pracy jest przedstawienie Elbląga i nowego portu oraz rejonu Żuław Wiślanych na tle wzrastającego ryzyka powodziowego. W oparciu o zebrane materiały źródłowe i własne analizy zaprezentowano sposoby ograniczania ryzyka powodziowego dla badanego obszaru.
The article presents the port of Elbląg, which was created due to the natural causes of the Vistula Lagoon and the Elbląg River, and also in reality how it did not fully take advantage of its location close to the sea. The newly built canal through the Vistula Spit, opened for public use in September 2022, may be an impulse for the city's development and an opportunity for change in the run-down port of Elbląg. The aim of the work is to present Elbląg in its new port and the Vistula Żuławy region against the background of flood risk. Based on source materials and own analyses, flood risk reduction systems for the studied area were presented.
