W artykule przedstawiono historię rozwoju systemu wodociągowo-kanalizacyjnego Warszawy. Zaprezentowano m.in. wysiłki w. Lindleya i jego syna W.H. Lindleya związane z zaprojektowaniem i zrealizowaniem tego systemu, jak też, pełen sukcesu, ostatni okres rozwoju systemu, szczególnie związany z modernizacją i rozbudową oczyszczalni ścieków „Czajka".
The article presents the history of the water and sewage system of Warsaw. It presents, inter alia, the efforts of W. Lindley and his son, W.H. Lindley related to the design and implementation of this system, as well as successful last period of the system development, in particular related to the modernisation and development of the "Czajka" sewage treatment plant.
