Although the terms "plan" and "program" are both used when referring to the central economy administration, however it is economic planning, both in theory and in practice that has widely developed in the countries of market economy. The present work tries to analyse the existing planning Solutions in those EU countries that have developed differentited approaches towards development through various projection horizons, levels of decision-making and degree of directedness, as well as the role of plan and socio-systemic Solutions. The author analyses the position of governmental institutions dealing with development programming in EU countries; the forms of socio-economic planning as well as the most interesting Solutions applied in the EU countries and regarding a spacial and regional planning.
