KOMPLEXNOSŤ V PRÍSTUPE K HODNOTENIU KULTÚRY A UMENIA. OD TEÓRIE K VÝZNAMU VÝSKUMU DIVADELNÉHO PUBLIKA
This paper addresses measurability and value in the field of culture and the arts. Measurability encounters several challenges when trying to quantify this sphere and qualitatively assess its various aspects. The author therefore points out more complex approaches to looking at the quality of arts and culture and introduces three different approaches to evaluate culture, known as Holden’s, McCarty’s, and Brown’s models of evaluation. In particular, she draws attention to Holden’s concept of cultural value, which has inspired the authors of The Slovak Republic’s Strategy for Culture and Creative Industries 2030 issued by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The second part of the text has a reflective character. The author ponders possible research questions for the field of theatre and the theatrical art based on the objectives and measurable indicators formulated in the development concept of culture and creative industries. Through these, the author responds to the need to develop audience research and to the absence of systematic studies in this field.
