The European Unions Culture 2000 programme

Culture 2000 is a Community programme established originally for five years (2000-2004) with a total budget of 167 million euro. In 2003, the programme was extended until 2006 and its budget was raised with 69,5 million euro. Culture 2000 provides grants to cultural cooperation projects in all artistic and cultural fields (performing arts, plastic and visual arts, literature, heritage, cultural history, etc.). It seeks to encourage cultural creation and mobility, access to culture for all, the dissemination of art and culture, intercultural dialogue and knowledge of the history of the European peoples. In Hungary, KultúrPont Iroda is the official Cultural Contact Point for the Culture 2000 programme of the EU. Its activity is supported by the European Commission and by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage of Hungary.
