Retoryka wojenna w teczkach służb specjalnych Polskiej Rzeczypospolitej Ludowej i Ludowej Republiki Bułgarii

Based on the analysis of Polish and Bulgarian archival documents, the author presents examples of war rhetoric in the documents of the security services of two socialist countries. The paper also discusses the image of intelligentsia as an enemy, from the perspective of Secret Services employees. The article explains the structure of the secret reports, nomenclature used to refer to the representatives of intellectuals and their characteristics, lists the charges against intelligentsia, and specifies the linguistic ways of depreciating their work and activities. Common and distinct features of Polish and Bulgarian documents are also discussed.
