Badania ratownicze na stanowisku 7 w Opojowicach, gm. Czarnożyły, woj. łódzkie
Rescue archaeological research at site 7 in Opojowice was carried out by the Professor Konrad Jażdżewski Foundation for Archaeological Research in Łódź in 2007 and 2008. The works were headed by the author of the present article. A total area of 116.4 ares was investigated, which revealed 438 archaeological features and generated nearly 14 000 relics. The revealed material provided the possibility to distinguish the followingd chronological-cultural levels: settlement trace of the Funnelbeaker culture, settlement trace of the Early Bronze Age, settlement of the Lusatian-Pomeranian cycle, settlement trace of the Przeworsk culture, as well as traces of exploration in the 19th-20th century. The main chronological-cultural level at the site are the relics of the settlement of the Lusatian-Pomeranian culture from the turn of HD3/LtA. The research revealed probably the household part of the settlement, while the residential part is perhaps located south of the investigated area. A singular finding is a heavily damaged urn pit tomb discovered in the settlement. It comprised iron artefacts and heavily battered clay vessels.
