Hациональный аспект деятельности католической церкви византийско- славянского обряда в Западной Беларуси ( 1923–1939)

In the article the author discusses the national aspect of the work of the Catholic Church of the Byzantine-Slavonic rite. The sphere of its cultural influence also included a Polish strand, though in most cases the clergy spoke Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian, without taking any pro-Polish stance in national or ethnic matters. It is impossible to express in percentage-based terms the national preferences of the Catholic Church of the Byzantine-Slavonic rite in the analysed period. The Church’s position evolved towards using, in addition to Russian, also other languages (in sermons, religious services, contacts with the faithful and publications), though Russian remained the dominant language throughout the inter-war period.
