The article is about the probative value of a foreign official documents in relation to certification them. The considerations apply to a foreign official documents in civil proceedings and in the notarial activities. First of all in the article was presented definition of foreign official document. Further consideration concern the status of foreign official documents in the Polish legal system. In the article were also presented ways of certification a foreign official documents. In this regard mainly was discussed certification of documents relating to the transfer of ownership of the property located in Poland and documents whose authenticity has been denied by the parties.
